Monday October 5, 2009 we had the opportunity to view one of the outcomes from the 2008-2009 Grand Challenges Effort at ASU.  Ms. Ann Toca, the VP for Marketing & Communications at the ASU Foundation shared the year-long process of collecting and analyzing the input received about the local/global challenges we face, and how we as a university community may be able to address these challenges.  This video provides some insights and outlines opportunities this project has brought to light.  It will be premiered to the public on October 31, but I am inviting each senator to share this American-class production with all members of your academic unit and to invite a ‘group-think’ on just how your units may contribute to meeting these challenges and then, to help identify ways in which to evaluate those contributions.

We will be establishing a site on the Senate webpage to collect each academic unit’s ideas, suggestions and potential contributions. Enjoy this outstanding video and I look forward to hearing from each of you.
