e.      November is Diabetes Awareness Month: http://www.diabetes.org/

American Diabetes Association Homepage (23.6 million American are diabetic (8% of the population). Annually, the economic cost of diabetes is around 174 billion dollars. The signs and symptoms can be subtle and interpreted as stress, or fatigue and too frequently overlooked or ignored. The long-term implications of untreated diabetes are profound and life-threatening. Please,  stay informed and share this important information as appropriate.

f.        ASU Counseling services for students and faculty

Because of the tragic events of this past week on the Tempe campus, a number of information requests have come forward. Counseling services has provided these important and informative links for faculty, staff and students to review, and they invite phone calls and visits from all who desire contact.  In addition, they have generously offered to be available for questions and comments at our November 30 meeting. Please look over this information and utilize this outstanding service as you or other colleagues may need. Please share these with your unit faculty, staff and students as appropriate.
