Action Requested: The Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee recommends University Senate approval of a proposal submitted by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics – for the name change of a graduate degree – From: PhD in Sociology – To: PhD in Sociological Inquiry
 
Rationale: To create a broader and more interdisciplinary degree that involves faculty throughout the campuses; to bring changes in the way we train doctoral students in methods related to sociological research; to promote greater visibility and counter existing perceptions of program quality.
