Action Requested: The Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee recommends University Senate approval of a proposal submitted by the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication – for the establishment of an undergraduate degree – BA in Sports Journalism
Rationale: Sports journalism is the fastest-growing sector of the news media industry, with continued growth on all platforms specialty magazines, multimedia outlets and TV channels and networks. The Cronkite School's sports journalism program will give students unparalleled preparation for careers in sports media and communications through courses, internships and immersive professional programs.
