Senate Motion #2015-63
Motion Introduced by: Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee, Kathleen Puckett, Chair
Date of First Reading: March 30, 2015
Date of Second Reading: April 20, 2015
Title of Motion: Request from the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering – The Polytechnic School – for the name change of a graduate degree-from: MS in Applied Psychology to: MS in Human Systems Engineering
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The Applied Psychology MS has been confusing to students in that it is very broad, potentially ranging from counseling psychology to sports psychology. Human System Engineering reflects the intended discipline more directly and also aligns better with the new BS in Human Systems Engineering.
