Title of Motion: Request from the College of Nursing and Health Innovation – for the establishment of an undergraduate degree – BS in Health Care Coordination
 
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   


Rationale: The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Coordination prepares graduates to effectively coordinate resources to optimize individual health outcomes. Graduates will collaborate with individuals, families, and the integrated, multidisciplinary care team to meet complex health needs while navigating current and future trends in public policy that affect the delivery of health care. Students will have a thorough understanding of health care systems, community/public health, community resources, health education, and health advocacy. Employment opportunities include: health care coordinator, health care navigator, health advocate, and health educator or community health worker.
