Senate Resolution #2016-25

Motion Introduced by: University Academic Council, chair Brenda Hosley

Title of Motion: Faculty and academic professional support for the Arizona Board of Regents updated strategic plan and proposed funding model.

Action Requested: The University Academic Council has reviewed this letter and resolution, and recommends that the Senate suspend the rule requiring the second reading, and approve this motion.

Resolution:

Whereas the University Senate is the representative body of over 3000 faculty members and academic professionals at Arizona State University, and ;

whereas state support of the Arizona resident students is critically important to both the ongoing success of the University and our state as a whole;

we hereby resolve that the faculty members and academic professionals at Arizona State University emphatically support the Arizona Board of Regents updated strategic plan and propose funding model;

we further resolve that this resolution, and the attached letter drafted by our University Senate president, be distributed to Governor Doug Ducey and legislators as the formal opinion for all faculty members and academic professionals who are part of the Academic Assembly here at Arizona State University.
