Title of Resolution: Support for health plan benefits that provide transgender services for faculty and staff.

Whereas, Arizona State University supports and fosters an environment of inclusion, and;

whereas, the University Senate, representing all faculty members and academic professionals at ASU, wishes to express its support for policy initiatives that further enhance our diverse and inclusive environment, and;

whereas, it has come to the attention of the University Senate that transgender faculty, staff, and their dependents do not have health plan benefit options that provide them transgender services.

Be it resolved that the University Senate of Arizona State University encourages the expansion of health plan benefit options that would provide transgender services to those individuals and their dependents, including, but not limited to gender confirmation surgery, hormone replacement therapy, and gender-related counseling.
