Senate Motion #2017-48

Motion Introduced by:  Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee, Caroline Harrison, Chair

Date of First Reading: March 27, 2017

Date of Second Reading: April 24, 2017

Title of Motion: Request from the College of Health Solutions – to transfer a graduate degree – MS in Biomedical Diagnostics - from Biomedical Informatics – to the International School of Biomedical Diagnostics

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.

Rationale: Since our partners in Dublin City University are offering only one course remaining toward the degree in Biomedical Diagnostics, the International School of Biomedical Diagnostics will be its own organization within the College of Health Solutions, and this degree will move to that organization. The new school focuses on the study and delivery of low cost available diagnostic testing to erase disparities in health care and will be a better fit for this program
