Title of Motion: Request from the College of Health Solutions – School for the Science of Health Care Delivery– for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Health Care Policy and Delivery

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: This certificate in Health Care Policy and Delivery focuses on the business of medicine – including policy, administration, and leadership. Students have the option of selecting an internship course, which will enhance application of core concepts.

The School for the Science of Health Care Delivery serves as a connection between the business of medicine and clinical practice. As form follows function, School faculty is comprised of tenure-track and clinically-trained faculty who work together to create, teach, and disseminate knowledge to positively and measurably impact the delivery of the patient care experience, population health, and reduction of cost.
