Title of Motion: Request from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Dean’s Office–to transfer a graduate certificate -Nonfiction Writing and Publishing- to the School for the Future of Innovation in Society

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.  

Rationale: The School for the Future of Innovation and Society requests that the certificate be moved, as the school is home to the director of the certificate and two of the five faculty members teaching in the program.  The school’s investment in these faculty members not only justifies the transition, but the school would also provide a quality environment for the focus on writing for diverse publics concerned with complex socio-technical and scientific issues.
