Title of Motion: Request from the College of Health Solutions – Dean’s Office -for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate - Integrated Behavioral Health

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: Given the increased focus on the need to address behavioral health (defined as the intersection of mental and physical health as well as behavioral/lifestyle choices) in integrated health care settings, this certificate will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to pursue careers in integrated behavioral health. Focusing on underlying theories related to integrated care, evidence-based practice, and outcomes that support effective medical and behavioral integration to achieve the Triple Aim, this certificate meets a new and emerging need.
