Title of Motion: Request from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - School of Politics and Global Studies – for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Political Economy

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: This certificate is designed to engage students in the studies of global and domestic environments, whether they be in governance organizations, nonprofit agencies or private enterprises that involve an understanding of issues related to the intersection of politics and the economy.The certificate includes courses in political science, economics and other academic areas that relate to politics and the economy.
