Senate Motion #2019-12
Motion Introduced by: Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee,
Date of First Reading: August 27, 2018
Date of Second Reading: September 24, 2018
Title of Motion: Request from the College of Public Service and Community Solutions - for the name change of a graduate degree – from: MS in Program Evaluation – to: MS in Program Evaluation and Data Analytics
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The name change reflects a re-engineering of the current program evaluation curriculum to empower students through advanced training in data analytics. Advanced data skills are typically taught in computer science or information system programs and casual analysis is taught in social science programs. This program combines both skills in order for students to leverage date and technology to better implement program evaluations.
