Motion Introduced by: Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee
Date of First Reading: November 4, 2019
Date of Second Reading: December 2, 2019
Title of Motion: Request from the College of Health Solutions – for the name change of an undergraduate program – from: BAS in Applied Science (Food Service Management) – to: BAS in Applied Science (Food and Nutrition Entrepreneurship)
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The enrollment for this immersion degree has been very low. By renaming this degree, the college anticipates a large improvement in enrollment. Market analysis for Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial studies show that these terms are ranked very high, meaning there is a demand for the program.
