Title of Motion: Request from the College of Health Solutions – for the establishment of an undergraduate degree – BS in Dietetics

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.

Rationale: The BS in dietetics prepares students with the required coursework and skill set to apply for a dietetic internship required to sit for the registration exam to become a registered dietitian, which is a food and nutrition expert. In addition to a core of

professional nutrition courses, students will complete a broad range of science, management and communication classes. The program emphasizes the application of nutrition within clinical, community, food production and wellness areas.
