Motion Introduced by: Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee
Date of First Reading: October 25, 2021
Date of Second Reading: November 22, 2021
Title of Motion: Request from the W. P. Carey School of Business – Department of Management and Entrepreneurship - for the disestablishment of an undergraduate certificate – Small Business and Entrepreneurship
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The W. P. Carey School of Business is requesting the disestablishment of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship certificate. The school currently has an Entrepreneurship and Innovation certificate that has multiple tracks/concentrations within different disciplines, such as biomedical engineering, aviation management, digital media, etc. We plan to add a small business track/concentration within the Entrepreneurship and Innovation certificate to better serve students that are interested in entrepreneurship as a certificate.
