Title of Motion: Request from the – Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions – School of Community Resources and Development – for the disestablishment of an undergraduate degree – BS in Community Sports Management

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: The Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions is proposing to merge two of our degrees, Parks and Recreation Management and Community Sports Management, into one degree and disestablishing the former degrees. The programs are quite similar and there is a great deal of synergy between them. A somewhat more broad degree will be appealing to student, and this is a step toward streamlining our curriculum.
