Title of Motion: Request from the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences – School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences – for the establishment of a graduate certificate – Biological Data Science

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: The Biological Data Science certificate provides students with real-world training at the interface of the natural and mathematical sciences. Students will learn to manipulate “Big Data”, including the generation and analysis of data using statistical and computational toolsets.
