Title of Motion: Request from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – School of Transborder Studies – for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Latino Politics and Policy

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: This certificate program in Latino politics and policy advances students’ understanding of the past and present political experiences of Latinos, and policy issues surrounding this community. Some issues to be examined include immigration, voting, grassroots organizing, and other political players.
