2023-03
Motion Introduced by: Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee
Date of First Reading: August 29, 2022
Date of Second Reading: October 3, 2022
Title of Motion: Request from Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions – School of Community Resources and Development – for the disestablishment of a graduate degree – MPS in Community Development Practice
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: Since the program had been established in 2020 we have had zero students enrolled despite marketing efforts. There can always be a stronger campaign for everything we do but the cost benefit analysis has to be accounted for. It was best to use limited resources to build up current/thriving programs than to dedicate resources to an unestablished program.
