Title of Motion: Request from Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College – Division of Educational Leadership and Innovation – for the rename of a graduate certificate – From: An Overview of Autism Spectrum Disorders – To: Autism Spectrum Disorders

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: The name change more directly reflects the nature of the graduate certificate program about Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), without making it sound as if it is only an overview of autism spectrum disorders, but does not go into depth about the topic. The content will not change, and is a deep look at autism from the teacher, parent, and professional lens.
