Title of Motion: Request from College of Health Solutions – for the establishment of a graduate degree – MS in Population Health
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The MS in population health brings together multiple disciplines to prepare students to understand the complex factors that affect the health and well-being of populations. The program addresses the interaction between health systems and other sectors of society, including the private sector, government, non-profit, non-governmental organizations, media and academia, to affect population health outcomes. The program will include a strong repertoire of systems science, quantitative and qualitative research methods, epidemiology and biostatistics, and ethics courses together with applied experience.
