Title of Motion: Request from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College – Division of Teacher Preparation – for the disestablishment of undergraduate degree – BAE in Special Education and Elementary Education

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: Over the past few years, we have redesigned our teacher preparation programs and uncoupled content areas to provide our students with more personalized options in how they can configure their program majors and certificate options. As part of these revisions, we sought to establish a new bachelor's degree in special education and six new certificates including mild/moderate special education and one in elementary education. These new options will take the place of this degree and therefore, this degree is no longer needed for future enrollment.
