Title of Motion: Request from the College of Health Solutions – for the establishment of a graduate certificate – Medical Nutrition

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.

Rationale: This certificate in medical nutrition allows working health care professionals to acquire practical nutrition knowledge that can be immediately implemented in practice. Students will be prepared to discuss diet therapies, supplement use, and nutritional concepts with their patients and clients. Students also gain an in-depth review of evidence-based nutrition research and the role of nutrition in managing chronic disease.
