Title of Motion: Request from the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences – School of Social and Behavioral Sciences – for the rename of a graduate degree – From: MA in Social Technologies – To: MA in Social Data Science

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: While "social technologies" is not a term recognized in industry or academia, "social data science" programs are more broadly interpretable in both contexts, providing greater value to graduates and to faculty associated with the program.
