Title of Motion: Request from the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts – School of Applied Sciences and Arts – for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Writing

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: The Writing Certificate will give students at the Polytechnic campus opportunities to explore writing for different purposes. Students will be able to choose from courses on professional writing, publication, persuasive writing, cross-cultural writing, imaginative writing, personal essays, family history research, environmental creative nonfiction, travel writing, grant and proposal writing, health care writing, and scientific reports.
