Title of Motion: Request from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College – Division of Teacher Preparation – for the disestablishment of a graduate degree – MPE in Physical Education

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: Since the program was established we have had low student enrollment despite marketing and recruiting efforts by faculty. There can always be a stronger campaign for everything we do, but the cost benefit analysis has to be accounted for. We were running 11 courses with low enrollment (for approximately 8 students) and this is not cost effective. As a college, we decided it was best to use limited resources to build up current/thriving programs than to dedicate resources to an unestablished program.
