Title of Motion: Request from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – School of Politics and Global Studies – for the establishment of an undergraduate degree – BA in International Relations
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: Students in the BA program in international relations develop analytic skill sets and mastery of forward-thinking content areas through rigorous curriculum, unique internships and research opportunities. Students learn about national security, cybersecurity, AI-intelligence strategies, conflict processes, diplomacy, international trade, and both international organizations and countries across the globe, gaining valuable practical knowledge about these subjects that is beneficial in their future careers.
