Title of Motion: Request from the Graduate College – for the establishment of a graduate degree – MAS in Advanced Studies

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: The Master of Advanced Study (MAS) program provides students the opportunity to focus their studies on two advanced knowledge areas by enrolling in official ASU graduate credentialed certificates, completing a master’s culminating experience, then earn a master’s degree. This individualized learning provides students with an opportunity to complete their master’s incrementally providing flexibility to students who need to complete their program in stages to advance their skills for the workplace.
