Title of Motion: Request from the W. P. Carey School of Business – Department of Information Systems – for the establishment of an undergraduate degree – BS in Artificial Intelligence in Business

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: The BS program in artificial intelligence in business equips students with the necessary technical AI and business skills required to succeed in the constantly evolving landscape of technology and information systems. It prepares business students to leverage AI mindfully, toward meaningful value creation within an organization. Students will learn how AI technologies work, how to deploy it successfully within a business, and are given opportunities to practice these skills in an organizational setting under the guidance of world-class business faculty and leaders.
