Title of Motion: Request from the W. P. Carey School of Business – School of Accountancy – for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Accountancy

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: This postbaccalaureate certificate program in accountancy gives college graduates who have no prior background in accounting the necessary foundation and skills to pursue a career in accounting or business. The curriculum covers financial reporting, cost accounting, tax, audit and information systems topics, and it prepares graduates for a variety of professional opportunities.
