Title of Motion: Request from the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts – School of Arts, Media and Engineering – for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: This certificate program is designed to address this growing need to understand the intelligence behind media tools. In particular, the program will train students in the use of both automated and semi-automated media tools for interactive and immersive experiences, media systems, and spatial/audio computing while understanding the context and background for these systems.
