Title of Motion: Request from the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering – The Polytechnic School – for the establishment of a graduate certificate – Learning Engineering
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The graduate certificate program in learning engineering fuses knowledge from the science of learning and skills from a variety of disciplines such as human-centered design, usability, evaluation, and systems design to address challenges that arise within training and educational organizations or systems. This training prepares students to work in interdisciplinary teams to solve problems. This certificate program provides lectures, discussion, and hands-on courses to ensure that students have a grasp of learning engineering methods and can apply them within real world settings.
