Title of Motion: Request from the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions – School of Public Affairs – for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Emergency Management Essentials

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.

Rationale: The Emergency Management Essentials certificate program is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a wide range of emergencies and disasters. This program covers the essential principles of emergency management, including risk assessment, disaster preparedness, response coordination, and recovery planning.
