Date of First Reading: September 08, 2025

Date of Second Reading: October 06, 2025

Title of Motion: Revision of Senate Bylaw II.B.7.a. 2) Voting Membership on the Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee

Action Requested: This motion adjusts the membership of this important committee to include career track faculty and to ensure familiarity with ASU curricular issues.

Rationale: Committee membership should be expanded to be more inclusive of career track faculty, who play a vital role in managing and creating curricula, and to ensure that members are very familiar with ASU curricular issues. Being on CAPC is an important service commitment, as it involves serving as a college/school representative and working with faculty and administrators from across the university. Members should have excellent communication skills and knowledge of ASU’s colleges/schools, campuses, programs, and processes. Those with curriculum development experience are especially needed on this committee (e.g., authors of approved/implemented proposals).

New language
