Title of Motion: Request from the Mary Lou Fulton College of Teaching and Learning Innovation – Division for Advancing Educator Preparation – for the establishment of an undergraduate degree – BEd in Education

 

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

 

Rationale: This innovative 90-credit Bachelor of Education offers an accelerated path to teaching, reducing both time and cost compared to traditional 120-credit programs while maintaining rigorous preparation standards. The streamlined program prepares future teachers to work effectively with children, combining intensive academic preparation with extensive classroom-based experiences to develop skilled, confident educators.
