Title of Motion: Revision of ACD 112-01 Academic Constitution and Bylaws, Senate Bylaw I.B.2.d. The Academic Professional Grievance Committee (Membership on the Committee)

Action Requested: This motion adjusts the membership of this committee to allow membership by those with fixed-term contract status, while also preserving the essential need to have members who are familiar with ASU.

Rationale: At present, very few academic professionals have “continuing contract” status, so that making this a requirement makes it extremely difficult to get members for this important co-mmittee. It also excludes a great many academic professionals whose experience at ASU would make them good members for this committee. This change would open the opportunity for more academic professionals to serve on this important and necessary committee.
