Title of Motion: Request from the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences – School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences – for the name change of an undergraduate certificate – From: Environmental Justice – To: Environmental Studies

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: To align the certificate program with the current name changes across the proposed programs in Environmental Studies. To avoid potential issues with the inclusion of “justice” in the title and bring forth a more holistic view of the proposed certificate.
