Title of Motion: Request from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication – for the name change of an undergraduate degree – From: BA in Mass Communication and Media Studies – To: BA in Media Studies

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: The Cronkite School seeks to remove the confusion of "Mass Communication and" from this degree name, simplifying it to "Media Studies." All Cronkite School degrees are mass communication degrees, and the change better describes the field of study (media research and analysis for professional and academic careers).
