Title of Motion: Request from the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation – Division for Advancing Education Policy, Practice and Leadership – for the establishment of a graduate certificate – Physical Activity and Physical Education
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: The knowledge and skills students will learn through the Physical Activity and Physical Education Microcertificate include how to teach Physical Education in PreK-12 schools. The primary audience for this microcertificate is: Teachers who currently hold, or are pursuing, a PreK-12 teaching certificate and want to earn an additional endorsement in PreK-12 Physical Education.
