Title of Motion: Request from Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication – for the establishment of an undergraduate degree – BS in Media Production

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: The BS in Media Production trains students in the technical and creative aspects of multimedia content creation, from video production to digital storytelling. Students focus on producing live productions (news, sports and events); studio operations and control room technology; and real-time communication for TV, radio and digital platforms, nurturing skills in broadcasting technology and workflows, studio production and on-air presentation, audio production, media writing and content performance analysis.
