Title of Motion: Request from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – American Indian Studies Program – for the establishment of a graduate certificate – Indigenous Health

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: The microcertificate program in Indigenous health prepares participants for a range of meaningful careers focused on advancing health equity in Indigenous communities. This program is ideal for those currently working—or seeking to work—in tribal health departments, public health agencies, nonprofit organizations, healthcare systems and community-based health initiatives.
