Title of Motion: Request from the College of Public Programs – School of Community Resources and Development – for the name change of a graduate degree – From: Master of Nonprofit Studies – To: Master of Nonprofit Leadership and Management

Action Requested: The Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee recommends University Senate approval of a proposal submitted by the College of Public Programs – School of Community Resources and Development – for the name change of a graduate degree – From: Master of Nonprofit Studies - To: Master of Nonprofit Leadership and Management

Rationale: The Master of Nonprofit Studies will become the Master of Nonprofit Leadership and Management. The degree is a professional degree and we feel the new name better communicates the focus which is the management of nonprofit organizations. The name Studies tends to imply a more theoretically oriented degree.
