Title of Motion: Request from the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences- School of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies - for the disestablishment of an undergraduate degree – BA in Women and Gender Studies

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: We propose to disestablish the Women’s and Gender Studies Bachelor of Arts degree program.  The Social and Cultural Analysis BA (effective Fall 2015) was developed to be the umbrella degree for three BA programs – American Studies; Ethnicity, Race and First Nations Studies; Women and Gender Studies – that will become concentrations in the new degree.
