Title of Motion: Request from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College – Division of Educational Leadership and Innovation–for the name change of a graduate degree – from: MA in Curriculum and Instruction – to: MA in Education

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.

Rationale: Curriculum and Instruction is no longer strongly identified as the main degree title in graduate programs.  Newer online master’s degrees are titled simply the Master of Arts or Master of Science in Education.
