Title of Motion: Request from College of Integrative Sciences and Arts – for the establishment of an undergraduate certificate – Certificate in Military Studies

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.   

Rationale: The military studies certificate program is designed in partnership with the U.S. Naval Community College to provide enlisted personnel, veterans and nonmilitary students with an interdisciplinary focus on national security, history and political science. Coursework includes global perspectives on war and conflict, an understanding of contemporary United States foreign policy, and regional focus of the student's choice on history, religion and politics.
