Title of Motion: Request from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies— for the name change of an undergraduate degree – From: BA in Asia Studies – To: BA in Global Asia Studies

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: The change aims to both broaden and refine the study of Asia in terms of academic scholarship and learning and professional qualification and preparation. Combining the three programs into one renamed program entitled “Global Asia Studies” promises to improve and strengthen Asia Studies at ASU.
