Title of Motion: Request from the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences – School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences – for the disestablishment of an undergraduate degree – BS in Applied Computing

Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision. 

Rationale: Given that the Applied Computing program so closely resembles the Computer Science BA, which will be offered for the first time at the West Valley campus beginning in Fall 24, it seems sensible to offer a single degree rather than two separate degrees housed in two different colleges. By partnering academic assets with those offered by the Fulton School of Engineering, New College hopes to serve more students across the West Valley campus.
