Title of Motion: Request from the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences – School of Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies – for the disestablishment of an undergraduate certificate – Transformation and Change
Action Requested: This curricular proposal has received all college, school, unit and university administrative approvals, and is being presented to the Senate for review and voting decision.
Rationale: This certificate was created as part of a new General Studies trial that was eventually discarded. The certificate initially allowed students to integrate three one-credit courses created for that General Studies...When the General Studies pilot in New College was discontinued, those one-credit courses were no longer offered, and the certificate was altered to accommodate that shift. However, beyond the disappearance of those courses, enrollment has been falling in the years since its creation.
